Full description of the position

Position Summary: The Sales Associate & Graphic Designer will work in the office assisting clients from initial inquiry through to order delivery. You will help clients choose award styles, advise on wording and grammar, produce vector graphic proofs for engraving, handle phone & email communication, coordinate with production team, and create shipping/invoice documentation. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, and basic proficiency with vector graphic software. Key Responsibilities: * Greet and advise clients (phone, email, in-person) regarding award styles, engraving options, and wording/layout suggestions. * Prepare quotes and invoices (basic familiarity with QuickBooks or similar preferred). * Review client wording/grammar for accuracy and clarity, offer improvement suggestions where appropriate. * Use vector graphics software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW) to assist in creating proofs for client review prior to engraving. * Evaluate design and text hierarchy to ensure aesthetic and functional excellence in awards. * Schedule and coordinate with production team to relay client's expectations. * Time-management oversight of multiple client order deadlines, escalate production issues or delays to management. * Quality control of final products: inspect engraved items prior to shipping to ensure correct text, spelling, layout, finish. * Provide shipping labels as needed and sign for incoming/outgoing packages. * Assist in production tasks during heavy/seasonal periods (e.g., assembly, quality check, engraving support) as needed. Qualifications & Skills: * High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in design, communications or business a plus. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong grammar/spelling proficiency. * Demonstrated attention to detail and precision, especially in text/layout tasks. * People-oriented, friendly, with strong phone-etiquette and customer-facing confidence. * Basic to intermediate experience with vector graphic software (Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or equivalent). * Familiarity with invoice/quote software (QuickBooks or similar) preferred. * Ability to manage multiple orders, prioritize tasks, track production timelines, and work well under pressure. * Design sensibility: understand and apply text hierarchy, layout balance, and aesthetic considerations. * Willingness to assist in production tasks during peak periods; physically capable of light lifting and movement around production floor. * Team player with ability to coordinate between customer service, design/proofing, production, and shipment.
