Full description of the position
The Texas Nurses Association is seeking a Director of Membership to develop and implement a membership strategy to recruit, engage and retain members. The director will track and evaluate membership trends, member benefits, and programs to inform membership recruitment, engagement and retention strategies as well as maintain and execute the district services plan and active district status criteria, and provide support to district leadership. The Director of Membership will also serve as the staff liaison to the Leadership Succession and Awards committees, and ensure policies and procedures regarding nominations, elections and awards are followed. As a member of the leadership team the director will also participate in strategic planning, budget preparation and other association initiatives, prepare quarterly reports to the Board of Directors and attend board and committee meetings regularly, and provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to member services staff. Responsibilities Include * Develop and implement a strategic membership plan to recruit, engage, and retain members in alignment with association goals * Provide input and collaborate with the communications team to create compelling campaigns and promotional efforts highlighting membership benefits * Develop and execute strategies and programs to stimulate member engagement and enhance the member experience, as a means to increase member retention * Evaluate member benefits and identify new opportunities to enhance the value of membership * Represent TNA at nursing events, conferences and meetings to promote membership opportunities and build relationships * Ensure accuracy of membership database, including integration of external data into the system, and provide reports as requested * Maintain and execute the district services plan, and provide support to assist districts with sustainability * Serve as the staff liaison to the Leaderships Succession and Awards Committees; collaborate with leadership team members to provide support to other committees as needed * Collaborate with association leadership and participate in the development and implementation of the strategic plan; provides updates to leadership and the Board of Directors regarding membership initiatives * Maintain optimal relations with key Association members, affiliate organizations and stakeholders, including members, committees, coalitions, the TNA Board of Directors, and other stakeholders * Measure and analyze effectiveness of programs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement; communicate fully and effectively with key internal partners Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or related field; Master's degree preferred * Five years experience in a membership management or similar role, with emphasis on recruiting and retaining members * At least two years in a leadership role * Proficiency with CRM systems, data analytics tools, and member engagement platforms * Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively * Strategic thinker with the ability to translate ideas into actionable plans * Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills * Ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all levels Working Conditions: * Frequent sitting and computer use; ability to stand for periods of time when presenting or exhibiting * Travels locally and statewide as job requires * Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs * Some evenings and occasional weekends required Job Type: Full-time Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Employee assistance program * Flexible spending account * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Parental leave * Professional development assistance * Vision insurance Education: * Bachelor's (Required) Ability to Commute: * Austin, TX 78759 (Preferred) Work Location: Hybrid remote in Austin, TX 78759Texas Nurses Association
