Full description of the position

JOB SUMMARY: The Account Advisor performs the essential functions of the position, which include aiding Client Executives and clients with service needs and executing client's overall health and welfare benefits strategy. Specific service and marketing responsibilities are required in this position. May be assigned special projects as needed from time to time. Strong ability to communicate effectively with clients, co- workers and other business contacts. At all times, this role is responsible for adherence to the stated expectations of Sentinel's Errors and Omissions Management Program. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Serve as daytoday contact for clients and fields and resolves escalated inquiries related to claims, billing and health and welfare compliance. * Provide technical support to Client Executive(s); specifically, in analyzing client needs, evaluating benefits and carrier capabilities and/or products. * Prepares for and attends client strategy and renewal meetings and occasionally take lead in meetings. * Lead and manage request for proposals made to carriers and vendors on behalf of their clients. * Oversee preparations of carrier quote comparisons and contribution modeling in Sentinel format. * Partner with Financial Consultant to facilitate and deliver financial experience reporting and utilization reports. * Lead carrier and vendor implementation; completes carrier and vendor documentation (applications, paperwork and agent fee agreements) for client signature, ensures timely submission to carrier or vendor partners, manages timeline for enrollment submission and distribution of ID cards if applicable. * Oversee preparation of employee communications, including but not limited to, benefit guides and enrollment presentations. * Review contracts, certificates, SPDs, Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC), etc. verifies accuracy and facilitates corrections if necessary. * Process incoming mail and phone requests, responding promptly and appropriately. * Keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * High School education or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years' insurance. * Property & Casualty Insurance license. * Ability to analyze complex insurance situations, needs and options and communicate these options both verbally and in writing in a clear, concise manner. * Ability to understand written and oral communication and interpret abstract information. * Advanced Knowledge of insurance products and usages. * Advanced Knowledge of insurance markets and reference to markets. * Knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting procedures. * Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables. * Strong computer skills with an advanced familiarity with tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word and the agency management system platforms. * Ability to manage complex projects simultaneously. * Ability to work independently and take lead on all elements of client servicing when necessary. * Negotiation and presentation skills. WORKING CONDITIONS: * Fastpaced environment. * Large number of multiple steps in complex system performed with accuracy and speed is essential to the successful completion of tasks.
