Job Summary Apply your skills as an Outside Sales Representative with the Thos. Somerville Company. Founder, Thomas Somerville, opened the National Brass Works in northwest Washington, D.C. in 1861. Today, Thos. Somerville Company is a leading distributor of plumbing and HVAC equipment and supplies, operating 21 branches and 6 showrooms in 5 states and the District of Columbia. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our growing Forestville, MD team. As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be tasked with increasing sales and building relationships with HVAC & plumbing contractors in and around the DC market. Successful candidates are professional and trustworthy. They work closely with clients to identify needs and offer solutions. Job Responsibilities (but not limited to): * Visit contractors at their offices and job sites * Work closely with our inside team to provide customer quotes * Process orders, to include counter, delivery, special & direct orders * Develop strong contractor relationships through consistent performance * Process customer returns & credits * Create new business opportunities by seeking out new customers * Work with credit department on credit limits and collections * Promote focus product lines with clientele * Continually educate yourself and seek training opportunities on products we sell * Assist members of the inside sales team when required * Communicate needs with management * Work closely with our vendor partners * Conduct product training sessions for our customers Qualifications: Positive attitude, Mechanically inclined, Technically savvy, Quick learner High school diploma + * Strong communication skills * Self disciplined & self motivated * Computer literate * Detail-oriented * Team player We offer a great benefits package to include health/dental insurance, 401K, life insurance, paid holidays, PTO time, mobile reimbursement and excellent compensation package.
