Full description of the position
The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue, expanding market presence, and elevating the Uncle Arnie's brand across all licensed recreational cannabis retailers throughout the region. This role blends strategic account management, new door acquisition, in-store activation leadership, and cross-functional coordination with marketing, distribution partners, and internal sales leadership. The Territory Sales Manager will be the primary face of Uncle Arnie's in the San Diego and Inland Empire markets -- ensuring exceptional retail execution, building deep dispensary relationships, and accelerating velocity across our beverage & shot portfolio. Responsibilities Territory Ownership & Revenue Growth * Manage and grow a defined account base across San Diego County and the Inland Empire. * Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets through accurate forecasting and consistent account engagement. * Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews with top accounts to identify * growth opportunities. * Maintain a tight grip on SKU-level performance, out-the-door movement, and reorder cadence. Account Management & Relationship Building * Serve as the primary point of contact for all existing retail partners in the San Diego & Inland Empire territory. * Strengthen relationships with buyers, GMs, inventory managers, and budtender staff to maximize brand presence. * Ensure optimal stock levels, merchandising displays, menu placement, and promotional execution. * Resolve service issues quickly by coordinating with distribution partners, licensees, and internal teams. New Door Acquisition * Identify, prospect, and close new retail accounts across San Diego and the Inland Empire to expand Uncle Arnie's footprint. * Build and present compelling pitch decks for buyers and purchasing committees. * Lead onboarding for all new store launches including staff training, merchandising setup, and product activation. In-Store Execution & Field Marketing Support * Execute high-impact in-store events, demos, staff educations, sampling programs, and promotional campaigns. * Ensure compliant signage, POS, and merchandising materials are deployed and maintained. * Act as the field lead for all regional events such as consumer pop-ups, sponsorships, and marketing initiatives. * Provide post-event reporting with photos, learnings, and performance metrics. Market Intelligence & Competitive Awareness * Track category trends, competitor pricing, promotions, product launches, and brand presence throughout San Diego and the Inland Empire. * Provide actionable insights to the State Sales Manager, VP of Sales, and Marketing teams. * Identify opportunities for new SKUs, bundles, or promotional strategies based on real-time market behavior Cross-Functional Collaboration * Communicate frequently with distribution partners to ensure smooth ordering, delivery, and credit issue resolution. * Partner with Marketing to request POS, coordinate demos, and align on brand strategy for the region. * Support new SKU launches and category expansions (e.g., shots, 12oz beverages, functional SKUs, gummies when applicable). Operational Excellence * Maintain weekly CRM hygiene including logging visits, tagging action items, and tracking sales opportunities. * Develop and follow weekly/monthly route plans for efficient coverage of San Diego and the Inland Empire. * Provide accurate forecasting, territory planning, and rep insights to leadership. * Conduct store audits to ensure compliance, product freshness, and proper display. Training & Leadership * Lead budtender education sessions with a focus on product knowledge, consumer use cases, and value props. * Mentor junior reps or brand ambassadors during events, if present, providing guidance and professional development. * Represent Uncle Arnie's professionally at all times as a senior face of the brand. Required Skill Sets and Experience * 2-4+ years of cannabis CPG sales experience; beverage category experience strongly preferred. * Proven track record in hitting growth targets and opening new accounts. * Strong relationships across San Diego and/or Inland Empire cannabis retail landscape is a significant plus. * Highly organized with strong forecasting, CRM, and route-planning capabilities. * Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. * Must be comfortable with in-store demos, staff trainings, consumer engagements, and high-energy events. * Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and ability to lift 30-40 lbs of product & POS.
