Full job description Opportunity to Lead and Grow The Springhill Suites Gaithersburg is seeking a driven and experienced Director of Sales to lead our property's sales efforts and help establish us as the preferred choice in the market. As a new property, this role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of the hotel's revenue success and grow your career as a key member of our leadership team. As Director of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, building strong community relationships, and driving business growth across multiple market segments. This is a leadership role where your actions will directly impact the hotel's revenue, visibility, and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
: Lead all proactive sales efforts to achieve and exceed revenue goals. Develop new business through prospecting, client visits, and relationship- building. Maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel planners, and community partners. Analyze STR reports and market data to adjust sales strategies accordingly. Manage group blocks, event schedules, and maintain accurate sales records in Delphi. Collaborate closely with the General Manager and Regional Director of Sales to align sales initiatives with property goals. Represent the hotel within the local business community through active participation and networking. Support guest experience by working alongside operations teams to ensure service excellence. Participate in revenue management discussions to maximize market share and profitability.
Qualifications
: Minimum 2 years of hotel sales experience required. Previous leadership experience in hotel sales or operations preferred. Experience with Hilton, Marriott, IHG, or similar hotel brands is highly valued. Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets. Strong understanding of revenue management principles. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Delphi (Standard, Essentials, or FDC) preferred. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to engage actively with the local community.
