The Business Development Executive leads Stevens Foster's new client acquisition efforts by cultivating relationships with corporate executives, high-net-worth families, and professional referral partners. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic outreach initiatives, advancing qualified prospects into discovery conversations, and guiding relationships through a smooth transition to the advisory team. As a forward-facing representative of the firm, the Business Development Executive communicates Stevens Foster's integrated wealth management model-- spanning planning, tax, and investments--with professionalism and clarity. The position strengthens the firm's visibility in the Twin Cities market, deepens community and professional partnerships, and ensures prospective clients experience a thoughtful, high-touch introduction to the firm.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Strategic Growth
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan targeting executives and families with complex financial needs.
- Identify, source, and acquire new clients through networking, referrals, targeted outreach, events, and community engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with attorneys, CPAs, and centers of influence to expand the firm's referral network.
- Provide insights to leadership about emerging business opportunities and market trends. Prospect Engagement & Transition
- Educate prospective clients on Stevens Foster's integrated wealth management services.
- Qualify prospects and coordinate seamless transitions to Client Account Managers for discovery meetings.
- Support CAMs during onboarding to ensure new clients receive a cohesive, high-quality experience. Marketing & Brand Development
- Oversee firm marketing initiatives, including campaigns, sponsorships, advertising, and event coordination.
- Collaborate with the Office & Client Support Associate on content creation, marketing materials, website updates, and social media execution.
- Represent Stevens Foster at industry, networking, and community events to increase visibility and brand presence. Pipeline Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate Redtail CRM records, including activities, prospect notes, and pipeline updates.
- Provide regular progress reports to firm leadership, including acquisition metrics and pipeline health.
- Achieve or exceed annual client acquisition and revenue targets.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or related field preferred.
- 7-10+ years of business development, marketing, or relationship management experience in wealth management, financial services, or professional services.
- Demonstrated success attracting and retaining high-net-worth and executive clients.
- Established Twin Cities referral network strongly preferred. Technical Skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems, especially Redtail.
- Experience managing marketing campaigns and coordinating external vendors.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office and digital communication tools. Professional Skills & Attributes

- Ability to build trust quickly and communicate the value of a comprehensive wealth management approach.

Compensation
- Base salary: $90,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience.
- Performance-based bonus opportunity available.
- Robust benefits package: including medical (PPO and HSA options with 85% employer-paid employee coverage), 100% employer-paid dental for employees, voluntary vision, employer-funded HSA contributions, company-paid life and disability insurance, pre-tax FSA options, 50% employer coverage of Minnesota Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML) premiums, and a 401(k) with up to a 5% employer match after one year of service. Schedule
- Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday.
- Additional hours may be required during marketing events, networking functions, or peak campaign periods.
