Job Description Summary: The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for the Heard Museum Shop's activities that support the sale of American Indian Art and its customer's experience. This is a key position within the Heard Museum Shop as we strive to increase our growth as well as customer satisfaction. This position reports to the Director of Retail Operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Interfacing with the Heard' marketing department on Shop matters. * Creating and maintaining Shop artist signage. * Creating and sending Shop e-mails, Earthsong contributions, etc. * Driving the schedule of NAA ads. * Managing the Holiday Gift Guide process. * Staging Shop events including artists in Shop, and book signings. * Serving on the sales floor as needed. * Developing and maintaining a comprehensive artist's biography database. * Providing the highest level of customer service while working with guests, members, volunteers, and the board of directors. Employment Requirements: Requirements: * Background check required Education: * High school diploma required * Bachelor's degree preferred Previous Experience: * Previous experience in retail sales required, preferably in fine jewelry preferred. * Marketing, and event management experience a plus. Important Aspects: * Computer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is a must. * Experience in arts and culture. * Knowledge of American Indian history and tradition.
