Job Summary Business Development Executive (BDE) : Transportation / Residential White Glove Delivery The primary responsibility of this position is to drive top-line revenue growth for My Home Delivery (MHD) by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities. Travel : Road Warrior 60-75% Job type : Full-time Reports to : CEO Work Environment : Onsite 125 Newfield Ave Edison NJ 08837 Industry : Transportation / Furniture -Appliance Delivery and / or installation / White Glove Delivery / Big Ticket Client Account Procurement. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The job functions listed below represent the essential job duties and responsibilities of the above-listed position. * This position will interface with our target customers to increase company revenue via different methodologies. The BDE will prospect to independently identify and pursue new business opportunities. This position will also work directly with Sales Management to determine the appropriate involvement of an Account Executive once a prospect has been identified. * This role will own customer calls to help validate, pursue, and secure new business opportunities. * The BDE will champion key RFPs (financial request for proposal) and customer pricing requests. This includes, but is not limited to, helping define the strategy as well as solidifying such variables as fuel surcharge, accessorials, service expectations, etc. * Provide market expertise and competitive intelligence to the MHD Sales and Management teams. This includes but is not limited to offering input on key initiatives and the overall strategic direction of the division. * Develop and closely maintain an activity report to be reviewed by Sales and Operations management. This includes but is not limited to any pending start-ups or closed business as well as potential new business in the current pipeline * Communicate directly with Sales and Operations regarding upcoming customer visits and scheduled travel plans. * Be on site for any new account opening days. * Represent the company at industry trade shows and events * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Knowledge of transportation general practices and terminology usually gained through practical experience and on-the-job training. * Knowledge of all functional areas with MHD and all relevant departments that are supported by My Home Delivery. * Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines. * Excellent decision-making, communication and organizational skills * Skill in planning and time management. * Working knowledge of computers including spreadsheet, word processing, Internet, and data analysis tools. * Sales and marketing experience preferred. * Multi-Dimensional Expressions (MDX) experience preferred. * Ability to travel up to 75% of the time. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Management, Transportation/Logistics, or equivalent experience. * Three to five years of marketing and/or operations transportation experience preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Seeing and hearing: Read documents, computer screen answer phones, 75-100 % communicate in person.
