Full description of the position
Primary Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Team Management * Build, lead, and manage the hotel's group sales team, including determining staffing needs and organizational structure * Hire, train, coach, evaluate, and discipline sales team members, including participating in termination decisions * Set performance expectations, sales goals, and accountability standards for the sales team * Direct and oversee the work of the sales team rather than personally executing the majority of sales transactions Sales Strategy & Business Planning * Create, execute, and continuously refine group sales strategies based on market conditions, demand trends, and business objectives * Develop annual and quarterly sales plans aligned with revenue and occupancy goals * Analyze market data, competitor activity, and booking trends to adjust sales direction proactively * Identify new market opportunities and strategic accounts to support long-term growth Pricing & Revenue Partnership * Partner closely with the General Manager and the Revenue Management team on group pricing strategy and yield decisions * Provide strategic input on rate positioning, concessions, and contract terms to optimize overall profitability * Exercise discretion within established pricing and contracting frameworks to support business goals Client & Market Oversight * Maintain relationships with key accounts, industry partners, and market contacts * Oversee client engagement strategy and ensure appropriate coverage and relationship management by the sales team * Represent the hotel in key sales initiatives, industry events, and strategic sales efforts as needed Operational & Cross-Functional Leadership * Collaborate with operations, events, catering, and reservations leadership to ensure alignment between sales commitments and operational execution * Establish standards for internal communication, handoff processes, and service delivery related to group business * Resolve escalated client or operational issues related to group sales commitments Systems, Reporting & Accountability * Oversee sales systems, reporting, and forecasting processes to ensure accuracy and effectiveness * Use sales data and reporting to evaluate performance and inform strategic decisions * Ensure contracts, documentation, and sales practices align with internal standards and business objectives * Minimum of two (2) years of progressive hotel sales experience, including demonstrated leadership responsibility * Proven experience building and managing sales teams * Strong strategic planning, decision-making, and analytical skills * Ability to exercise independent judgment on matters of significance related to revenue, pricing strategy, and sales operations * Strong leadership presence and communication skills * Familiarity with hotel sales systems, CRM platforms, and group booking toolsEl Roblar Investment Property Manager LLC
