Full description of the position

FUNCTION: Responsible for selling hotel rooms and convention space with related Hotel bookings and catering services. Communicate and establish rapport with prospective, new, and established clients. Conduct business by phone, written correspondence, and in person while following Company policies and procedures. * RESPONSIBILITIES: * Solicit new business and pursue incoming business leads for the purpose of securing future conventions in designated geographic market. * Manage existing accounts, as well as identify new accounts. * Generate pre-determined quota of guest room and catering revenue as established by Director of Group Sales. * Collaborate with internal departments to provide effective proposal collateral to sales customers. * Communicate all relevant information regarding in-house groups to all departments. * Prepare and submit accurate sales activity reports as assigned. * Maintain acceptable comp policy with respect to generated business. * Conduct site inspections of the property for future business * Maintain active travel schedule to designated industry events and tradeshows as assigned. * Entertain prospective, and established clients as necessary to secure future and current business. * Secure and maintain a positive relationship with all Reno Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority sales personnel. * Maintain a high level of confidentiality. * Establish and maintain effective channels of communication with all levels of the Nugget team and guests. * Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations. * Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike. * Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager. * Maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same. * Regular predictable attendance is required. * Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. * REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:* Director of Group Sales * MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 21 years of age. * EDUCATION LEVEL: High School diploma /equivalent required. Four-year college degree preferred. * LANGUAGE: Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language. * EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years group sales experience. * SPECIAL SKILLS Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and sales skills. Knowledgeable of Delphi Sales System. Through knowledge of PC based programs including Microsoft and Excel. * LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION Alcohol Awareness Card required for special events if needed * PHSYICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time Ability to lift, and move product up to 40 lbs. Fine finger manipulation. Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.
