Sales Associate - Foodservice Distribution (Austin, TX) Ken 's Food Distribution Location: The corporate office is in Houston. Sales position: Austin, Texas (field-based) About Ken 's Food Distribution Ken's Food Distribution is a broadline foodservice distributor specializing in fresh produce, pastries, frozen meats and seafood, and dry goods, including rice, flour, and to-go packaging. With decades of experience serving restaurants, we focus on quality products, reliable service, and strong customer relationships. We are expanding our presence in the Austin market and are looking for a driven, relationship-focused Sales Associate to grow and support our restaurant customer base. Position Overview The Sales Associate is responsible for developing new restaurant accounts , managing existing customer relationships, and serving as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts. This role combines outside sales, customer service, and account management , with a strong emphasis on responsiveness and reliability. This is a full-time, Monday -Friday, 40-hour position, with flexibility required to support restaurant customers as needed. Key Responsibilities * Develop new business by prospecting and onboarding restaurants, chefs, and foodservice operators in the Austin area * Manage and grow existing accounts through regular in-person visits, phone calls, and follow-ups * Present and sell Ken's full product line, including produce, seafood, meats, pastries, dry goods, and packaging * Act as a trusted partner to restaurant clients by understanding their menus, needs, and buying patterns * Coordinate closely with operations, purchasing, and delivery teams to ensure accurate orders and high service levels * Handle customer questions, issues, and service needs promptly and professionally * Monitor pricing, margins, and opportunities to increase share of wallet * Maintain accurate customer notes, pricing, and activity records * Represent Ken's Food Distribution professionally in the field at all times Schedule & Availability * Monday-Friday, 40-hour workweek * Must be available to restaurant accounts , including early morning check-ins or occasional off-hour communication as required by customer needs * Field-based role requiring daily travel to customer locations Qualifications * Previous sales experience in foodservice, produce, seafood, or restaurant supply preferred * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation * Ability to travel locally throughout the Austin area * Comfortable building relationships with chefs, owners, and restaurant managers Compensation & Benefits * Base salary plus commission (performance-driven) * Growth opportunity within a growing food distribution company * Support from an experienced operations and leadership team Why Join Ken 's Food Distribution * Represent a diverse, in-demand product mix across multiple categories * Work directly with decision-makers in the restaurant community * Build long-term relationships, not just transactions * Opportunity to grow with an expanding company in the Austin market Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $5,000.00 per month Benefits: * Employee discount * Paid time off Work Location: In person
