Full description of the position

Director of Sales Are you a proven high performance sales leader with deep roots in the electronic components or semiconductor distribution industry? Direct Components Inc. is seeking a fearless, dynamic, and metrics-driven Director of Sales to lead revenue strategy for a global distributor specializing in advanced component sourcing solutions. This role demands a deep understanding of semiconductor and electronic component distribution , experience navigating government contracts and aerospace industry requirements , along with a proven track record of building and holding high-performing sales teams accountable for results. As our Director of Sales, you will: * Own the revenue strategy for a leading global distributor. * Expand our footprint across key verticals * Lead and mentor a high-performing sales team to exceed aggressive growth targets. * Develop innovative client acquisition strategies and improve quote-to-close ratios. This is a full-time position, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday - Thursday and Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Key Responsibilities: * Sales Strategy: Develop and implement scalable sales strategies targeting OEMs, CMs, EMS providers, and distributors with a focus on end-of-life (EOL), allocated, and hard-to-find parts * Team Leadership: Coach, mentor, and performance-manage the sales team to exceed KPIs across revenue, margin, and conversion metrics. Develop internal training aligned with DCI's technical capabilities (Xilinx, Altera, memory, microprocessors, etc.) * Pipeline Management: Oversee CRM and pipeline tools to ensure accurate forecasting, customer tracking, and quote management * Customer Engagement: Establish and nurture key customer relationships, collaborating with engineering and sourcing teams to deliver custom component solutions, alternative sourcing, and value-added services * Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with purchasing, quality, and other teams to align sales commitments with operational capacity and lead times * Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends and competitors to adjust strategies and maximize DCI's competitive advantage Qualifications: * 8-12 years of experience in B2B sales, with at least 5 years in electronic components or semiconductor distribution * Demonstrated success building and scaling sales teams in fast-paced, high-compliance environments * In-depth knowledge of component categories (ICs, memory, analog, RF, etc.) and industry verticals (aerospace, industrial, automotive, etc.) * Experience in military, aerospace, and/or government contracting, with a strong knowledge of government contract requirements * Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills * Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce or equivalent) and Excel-based pricing tools * Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or Engineering required; MBA is a plus Compensation is commensurate with qualifications, industry experience, and educational background.
