Job Overview We are seeking a high-energy, results-driven Sales Representative to join our hardwood flooring brokerage team. Unlike a traditional retail role, you won't just be selling off a shelf; you will act as a strategic intermediary between premium lumber mills and a diverse portfolio of clients, including commercial developers, high-end residential contractors, and interior design firms. Your goal is to source the perfect materials at the best price points, manage the supply chain logistics, and build long-term relationships that make us the first call for any flooring project. Key Responsibilities * Business Development: Identify and prospect new B2B opportunities through cold calling, networking, and site visits to architectural firms and construction offices. * Consultative Selling: Analyze project blueprints and specifications to recommend the right species, grades, and finishes (e.g., European Oak, Reclaimed Heart Pine, Wide-Plank Walnut). * Account Management: Maintain and grow existing relationships, ensuring a high rate of repeat business through exceptional service. * Vendor Liaison: Negotiate pricing and lead times with our network of domestic and international mills. * Project Oversight: Manage the sales cycle from initial quote to final delivery, coordinating with logistics teams to ensure on-time arrival at the job site. * Market Analysis: Stay current on hardwood trends, global timber pricing, and competitor activity. What We 're Looking For * Experience: 2-5 years of sales experience, preferably in building materials, flooring, or construction-related industries. * Hardwood Knowledge: Familiarity with wood species, Janka hardness scales, milling processes, and installation methods is a major plus. * Negotiation Skills: A proven ability to "close the gap" between buyer budgets and supplier costs. * Self-Starter Mentality: Comfortable working independently in the field and managing a sales pipeline without constant supervision. * Communication: Sharp presentation skills and the ability to speak the language of both a site foreman and an executive designer.
