Video & Novelty Shop selling DVDs (many with adult content), love toys and lingerie has permanent sales positions (full and part time) available for responsible adults. Some janitorial duties are required. We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast- paced environment. As a Cashier, you will play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the overall efficiency of the store. The store is open 10 AM till 10 PM; mostly night & evening slots are available for new hires. Time and a half for overtime or working Holidays. Sick pay and leave time start accruing immediately; 401K & 401K matching (100 %) available immediately. Over three weeks paid leave a year (based on a forty hour workweek). We evaluate new hires at three and six months for possible raises or bonuses. After that, evaluations are twice yearly, in June and December. Salaried managers are recruited from superior sales staff. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. Responsibilities * Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. * Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with their purchases. * Maintain knowledge of store products and promotions to effectively sell items and answer customer inquiries. * Assist with stocking shelves and organizing merchandise to ensure the sales floor is well-presented. * Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and promote sales. * Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring accuracy in cash handling procedures. * Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment. * Supervise junior staff when necessary, providing guidance on best practices for customer service and sales techniques. Qualifications * Previous experience in retail sales or as a cashier is preferred but not required. * Strong understanding of basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately. * Ability to perform retail math calculations effectively. * Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer interaction. * Experience in product demonstrations is a plus. * Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. * A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.
