Wholesale Sales Representatives at S &O Wholesale Co. are trusted relationship managers responsible for driving sales revenue, maximizing gross profit, strengthening customer loyalty, and maintaining operational excellence. Leveraging strong product knowledge and direct customer relationships, they play a key role in growing existing accounts, identifying new opportunities, and supporting internal teams to ensure seamless execution. Responsibilities Maximize Sales Opportunities & Gross Profit: * Identify customer requirements and offer "hot" products and promotional items when appropriate to maximize sales opportunities. * Execute strategic selling rather than transactional order taking. * Consistently propose new product ideas and assortments using customer sales data, category trends, inventory movement, and seasonal demand. Route Management & Sales Execution * Maintain and execute a consistent weekly route schedule for assigned customers. * On non-route days, focus on: * Prospecting and onboarding new customers * Visiting non-route customers requiring service * Working from the office to review customer data and prepare strategic product plans * Ensure consistent follow-ups, relationship building, and disciplined territory coverage. Prospecting & Market Expansion * Actively identify and engage new potential customers within assigned territory. * Conduct cold-calling and cold-email outreach to generate new business opportunities. * Introduce S&O Wholesale's value proposition and convert prospects to active accounts. * Track outreach, follow-ups, and prospect progress per company expectations. Accounts Receivable Support (Collections Awareness) * Work collaboratively with Accounting to: * Notify customers of upcoming payment due dates or late balances * Support resolution of outstanding payments when needed * Maintain professionalism while reinforcing S&O payment policies * Serve as a proactive communication bridge due to direct customer relationships. Sales Processing and Customer Service: * Efficiently and accurately process sales, manage returns, and provide after-sales support. * Take customer orders via phone when needed to ensure exceptional service and convenience. * Maintain professionalism and integrity in all interactions. Product Knowledge & Market Awareness: * Maintain expert-level product knowledge. * Stay informed on industry trends, new items, seasonal changes, and vendor programs. Relationship Management & Customer Experience * Build trust-based, long-term customer relationships. * Maintain a positive, solutions-focused attitude and dependable service presence. Team Collaboration: * Work collaboratively with leadership, warehouse, accounting, and purchasing teams. * Maintain a supportive, flexible, team-first approach. Operational / Warehouse Support * Support the warehouse team occasionally with inventory projects, merchandising readiness, or operational needs when required by the business.
