Job Title: Full-Time Sales Associate Location: Mills Jewelers & Loan, Camarillo, CA Employment Type: Full- Time, On-Salary: Hourly Rate $25.00 (commensurable with experience) Schedule: Tues - Fri 8:30am - 5pm, Sat 8am - 2pm About Us: Mills Jewelers is a small family-owned business fostering relationships in Ventura County since our first day almost 40 years ago. We pride ourselves on offering fair, professional, and confidential pawn services. We are the trusted resource for buying, selling, trading and pawning luxury goods in Camarillo. We are in search of a dedicated, customer-focused individual to join our small dynamic team as a full-time sales associate. Position Overview: The position is responsible for conducting pawn transactions, evaluating items, creating product listings for the website, and assuring a positive retail experience for our local and loyal customers. This role requires a balance of strong customer service and mathematical skills. You will be expected to appraise valuables, offer fair pricing, manage inventory, and assist customers in purchasing a variety of products. You will also be expected to assist in setting up and tearing down the sales floor every morning and every evening. Key Responsibilities: * Pawn Brokering: Evaluate and appraise items brought in for pawning or sale, make fair offers based on value and condition. * Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offer product recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction. * Sales: Assist customers with purchases, process transactions, and maintain a clean and organized sales floor. * Inventory Management: Manage inventory with limited oversight, assist with product pricing, and organize the showroom. * Compliance: Adhere to all state and local regulations for pawn transactions, including proper documentation and record-keeping. This also includes all security measures and procedures. * Marketing: Promote in-store and online sales, seasonal promotions, and social media campaigns as needed with minimal collaboration and oversight. Create product listings for the website and manage our eBay store. Qualifications: * Previous experience in retail sales, pawn brokering, or a similar role is preferred. * Basic understanding of the pawn industry, including appraising jewelry, luxury handbags, and other valuable items. Capacity for learning the industry in order to be forward thinking and creative along with team members. * Strong negotiation skills with in-person customers, dealers and online clients * Excellent phone etiquette to manage customer inquiries professionally * Superb attention to detail while being meticulous in handling materials, customers or forecasting * Strong communication and positive interpersonal skills * Ability to work independently on projects and tasks as well as part of a team * Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills * Basic math skills for handling transactions and evaluating prices, ability to use computers, calculator and currency counter and other tools * Required pre-employment testing including a formal background and credit check * Computer skills including familiarity with Google Drive, Canva, Shopify, eBay * Reliable transportation, time oriented and ability to commit to being a reliable team member * Must follow security protocols and state regulations * Must be comfortable working with animals, dogs are in the shop daily * Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required Total Compensation: * Training and professional development opportunities provided for learning our software, handbag authentication, diamond evaluation, jewelry appraisal and authentication, and more. * Complimentary lunch once a week * 2 Weeks Paid Time Off after 90-day probationary period * Employee discount on merchandise * A friendly, team oriented work environment How to Apply: We want to hear from you if you're looking for an exciting opportunity to join a growing business!
