Job Description: The Optical Sales Associate serves as the frontline figure in the optical retail environment, blending customer service and sales skills to meet the needs of patients. This role involves understanding a diverse range of customer preferences and requirements, guiding them through the selection of frames and lenses that best suit their lifestyle, prescription needs, and fashion sense. By maintaining a thorough knowledge of the latest trends in eyewear and the technical aspects of lenses and frames, the Optical Sales Associate ensures customers are provided with personalized advice and options. This position supports the overall goal of delivering a satisfying customer experience, fostering loyalty, and contributing to the success of the optical establishment. Position Summary: The Optical Sales Associate helps the patient choose their perfect eyewear by teaching them about frames, lenses, and lens enhancements. Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses that best suit their prescription needs and style preferences. * Perform accurate measurements of customers' pupillary distance and ocular center to ensure proper lens placement in frames. * Process sales transactions, including handling cash, credit cards, and insurance billing, ensuring accuracy in all financial dealings. * Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and treatments to enhance their vision and eyewear durability. * Manage inventory, including receiving new stock, conducting stock counts, and organizing display areas to showcase the latest eyewear trends. * Coordinate appointments for eye examinations with the optometrist, ensuring a smooth flow of customers through the store. * Handle eyewear adjustments and minor repairs, such as tightening screws and replacing nose pads, to ensure customer satisfaction and comfort. * Participate in community outreach programs, such as vision screenings or eyewear donation drives, to promote eye health awareness and the store's services. Education and Experience: * GED or High School Diploma required. * 1 year experience in retail sales * Previous experience in customer service or retail sales environment * Current State Driver's License & Clean Driving Record required. * Bilingual English/Spanish a plus * Basic math skills required.
