Job Title: Route Salesperson Company: SC Specialty Cut Flowers Location: North Charleston, SC Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Route Salesperson to join our team at SC Specialty Cut Flowers. The Route Salesperson will be responsible for delivering plants, greenery, and fresh cut flowers to florists, event planners, and retail clients along an assigned route, while building strong customer relationships and driving sales growth. This role requires excellent communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to manage time and logistics efficiently. Key Responsibilities Include: * Delivery & Route Management: Deliver plants, greenery, and fresh cut flowers to customers along a designated route, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining product quality and freshness. * Customer Service: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including florists, event planners, and retailers, by addressing their needs, resolving issues, and providing exceptional service. * Sales & Account Growth: Promote and sell floral products, upsell additional items, and identify opportunities to expand accounts within the assigned route. * Order Management: Collect and process customer orders, verify accuracy, and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure proper fulfillment. * Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory in the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling and storage of flowers to maintain quality standards. * Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on the delivery vehicle, ensuring it is clean, safe, and in good working condition. * Reporting: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, sales, and customer interactions, and report daily activities to the sales manager. * Market Feedback: Gather and relay customer feedback, market trends, and competitor insights to help improve product offerings and service. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in sales, horticulture, or related fields is a plus. * Experience in sales, customer service, or delivery roles, preferably in the floral or perishable goods industry is a plus * Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving a commercial van or truck is preferred. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset. * Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Basic knowledge of floral products and care is a plus but not required (training provided). * Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, load/unload products, and work in varying weather conditions. * Proficiency with basic technology (e.g., smartphones, GPS, and order management systems). Working Conditions: * Early morning start times to accommodate delivery schedules. * Driving for extended periods along assigned routes. * Exposure to varying weather conditions and refrigerated environments to maintain flower quality. * Full-time position with occasional weekend or holiday work during peak seasons (e.g., Valentine's Day, Mother's Day).
