Located next to the historic Hyman's Seafood Restaurant in downtown Charleston, Hyman 's General Store offers a warm, welcoming shopping experience for locals and visitors alike -- featuring unique Lowcountry gifts, sauces, apparel, and specialty products. We're looking for a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented General Store Sales Associate who loves people, retail, and creating memorable customer experiences. Now Hiring: General Store Sales Associate (Full-Time & Part-Time Positions Available) Responsibilities * Welcome and assist guests with genuine hospitality and product knowledge * Engage guests with enthusiasm, introduce featured products, and build genuine connections that lead to sales. * Take initiative in driving sales through upselling, cross-promotions, and personalized product recommendations. * Bring a positive attitude, professionalism, and enthusiasm to every shift * Contribute to meeting and exceeding store sales goals -- with commission opportunities based on performance. * Operate the sales register, handle cash and credit transactions accurately * Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment * Restock shelves and ensure merchandise is properly displayed and priced * Support store opening and closing duties, including reconciliation and preparation * Work collaboratively with team members and management to meet sales goals * Assist with store organization, inventory, and product rotation * Uphold Hyman's brand standards and deliver excellent customer service every day Qualifications * Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, but not required -- we'll train the right person * Friendly, approachable, and dependable with a strong work ethic * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Motivated by sales results and enjoys earning commission through great service and guest engagement. * Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a busy environment * Team-player mindset and willingness to learn Benefits & Compensation * Hourly pay: $15 to $17/hour + commission opportunities * Positive, family-oriented work environment * Flexible scheduling * Employee discounts on food and merchandise * Growth and promotional opportunities for strong performers Equal Opportunity Employer Thank you for your interest in working with our team!
