Full description of the position

Here at Holiday Inn Austin Town Lake, we're looking for friendly, dedicated, and service-oriented individuals to join our hotel team. We are seeking an experienced and driven Director of Sales to lead our sales strategy and drive revenue growth. Apply now and help us make every stay memorable! SUMMARY: The DOS is expected to be a talented hotel sales leader with experience booking corporate travel, group and catering business while leading a team of up to three associates. Our DOS will qualify, solicit, negotiate and book new corporate travel accounts, group and catering business in addition to maintaining and managing current accounts and business. The DOS needs to understand how to maximize the right mix of business at the right room rates in order to drive revenue and achieve budget. He or she must be a dynamic, well-rounded leader and team player with exceptional communication, writing and verbal skills. Prior hotel sales experience is required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following; however other duties may be assigned or required. * Learn Merlin, Concerto, Opera, Delphi Select, MeetingBroker, Agency360+ and other necessary technology to effectively do the job. * Qualify, solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business * Ensure you and team achieve 12-hour response time and 100% response rate in MeetingBroker and Cvent * Analyze historical, current and future hotel/market trends and create prospecting plan and selling strategies to capture the maximum amount of revenue and meet/exceed sales goals. * Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, group business and travel industry accounts to maintain and increase our market share as measured in the weekly and monthly STR. * Coordinate and execute customer specifications via BEO's and resumes with other departments accurately and efficiently. * Build room blocks, enter rooming lists, create master accounts, collect and post deposits and ensure meeting rooms are property setup. * Respond to customer and associate issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience. * Maintain accurate, legible records and files to provide group history, ensure future and current quality service and enhance future prospects. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: * IHG experience is highly desirable. * Deliver excellent customer service in an efficient manner. * Ensure you and team achieves weekly activity goals, including prospecting, sites and entertaining outside sales calls; track and record. * Generate proposals and contracts and manage all efforts to close the business. * Create SMART plans with your team to successfully meet your sales activities and goals. * Conduct accurate and timely reporting according to weekly, monthly and annual deadlines. * Create annual rooms budget with GM and annual sales expense budget. * Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Position Qualifications * College degree preferred. * 4 years Sales experience. * Strong Leadership and communication skills. * Strong managerial skills. * Compute accurate mathematical calculations. * Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally. * Previous experience in hospitality industry, preferably a * Experience in strategic planning and execution. * Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. * Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations. * Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. * Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
