Sales Manager / Account Executive - Retail Position Summary We are seeking a highly driven Sales Manager / Account Executive with exhibitor and tradeshow experience and the proven ability to grow revenue within retail accounts. The ideal candidate is competitive, execution-focused, and motivated by winning business. This role is responsible for driving aggressive top-line growth, expanding market share, and building proactive, high-impact buyer relationships through disciplined outreach and account management, while ensuring order accuracy to support flawless fulfillment. Applicant should be energized by getting the order, expanding accounts and delivering measurable revenue growth. Key Responsibilities * Drive a minimum of 30% annual top-line revenue growth across assigned retail accounts * Actively grow and protect market share through account expansion, reorder optimization, and new product placement * Maintain direct, proactive monthly contact with buyers, with a strong preference for scheduled video (Zoom) meetings * Track, analyze, and anticipate buyer purchasing patterns, seasonal trends, and reorder cycles to drive incremental volume * Proactively identify reorder opportunities, missed sales, incremental volume, and new account growth before the buyer asks * Lead structured monthly account reviews focused on performance, opportunities, and next actions * Execute disciplined, persistent follow-up to move opportunities to close -- no stalled conversations * Ask for and close orders with confidence, urgency, and accountability * Manage accounts with a growth mindset, not a maintenance mentality * Ensure all orders are accurate, complete, and clearly documented prior to submission to operations * Verify pricing, quantities, item details, ship dates, and customer-specific requirements to prevent fulfillment errors * Maintain accurate CRM records documenting buyer behavior, timing, preferences, and next steps * Collaborate internally to ensure accurate forecasting, execution, and customer satisfaction * Travel to tradeshows and set up and represent exhibits (approximately 6 times per year) * Occasional travel to customers' locations Required Qualifications * Minimum 5 years of experience selling comparable products into retail environments * Demonstrated track record of measurable revenue growth within existing accounts * Strong experience working directly with retail buyers and decision-makers * Proven ability to drive reorders, expand accounts, and close business through consistent follow-up * Comfortable owning revenue goals and being directly accountable for results * Exhibitor / tradeshow experience * Marketing experience * Ability to travel and make customer visits as needed Preferred Skills & Attributes (What We're Looking For) * A hunter-minded account manager who stays in front of buyers * Someone who plans customer touches and does not wait for inbound orders * Strong attention to detail with a clear understanding that sales accuracy directly impacts customer satisfaction and profitability * Ability to read buying patterns and translate data into action * Strong follow-up discipline -- you do what you say you'll do, when you say you'll do it * High sense of urgency, competitive drive, and ownership mentality * Aggressive but professional follow-up skills * Strong communication skills, particularly in video and live customer interactions * Self-directed, organized, and thrives in a performance-based, growth-focused environment Performance Expectations * Achieve 30% or greater revenue growth within the first 12 months * Establish and maintain consistent monthly buyer touchpoints across all assigned accounts * Demonstrate measurable account expansion, improved reorder frequency, and SKU penetration * Maintain accurate pipeline visibility, CRM hygiene, and forecasting * Maintain a high order accuracy rate, minimizing fulfillment errors, chargebacks, and rework * Buyers view you as a trusted, proactive partner -- not an order taker Marketing Resources & Support * Dedicated marketing budget to support account growth, product launches, and trade show initiatives * Access to marketing collateral, digital assets, and sales tools to support buyer presentations and outreach * Collaboration with internal marketing team on product positioning, promotions, and account-specific initiatives * Support for new product introductions, seasonal launches, and key retail resets * Ability to request custom presentations, product assortments, and marketing materials aligned with buyer needs * Tradeshow and exhibitor support including booth materials, samples, and promotional planning Internal Team & Operational Support * Close collaboration with operations, fulfillment, and customer service teams to ensure accurate order execution * Structured internal processes to support clean handoffs, forecasting, and fulfillment accuracy * Administrative and systems support (CRM, reporting, order processing) to allow sales to focus on growth and closing business * Clear internal escalation paths to quickly resolve pricing, logistics, or customer issues * Leadership support focused on removing obstacles and enabling sales performance Compensation & Benefits * Competitive base salary plus performance-based incentive compensation * Benefits package commensurate with experience * Why Join Us This is a growth-critical role for a candidate who wants ownership, accountability, and the opportunity to materially impact the business.
