Regional Sales Manager - Latin America Industry: Industrial Automation / Packaging Machinery Location: U.S. Based (Remote / Ideally near a major international travel hub like Miami, Houston, or Atlanta) Territory: Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean Role Overview The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the strategic expansion and revenue growth of our packaging machinery portfolio across Latin America. Unlike a direct sales model, this role focuses on building, training, and managing a robust network of independent Manufacturers ' Representatives and distributors. You will act as the bridge between our U.S. operations and local markets, ensuring our partners have the tools, technical knowledge, and support to close high-value capital equipment deals. Key Responsibilities * Channel Development: Identify, vet, and recruit high-performing Manufacturers' Reps and distributors in key industrial hubs (e.g., Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Bogota, Santiago). * Network Management: Oversee the existing rep network, setting annual sales targets, monitoring KPIs, and conducting regular performance reviews. * Technical Training: Educate local reps on the technical specifications, value propositions, and competitive advantages of our machinery (fillers, conveyors, palletizers, etc.). * Joint Sales Calls: Travel internationally to support reps during high-stakes presentations and site audits at major manufacturing facilities (Food, Pharma, Beverage). * Market Adaptation: Work with the marketing and engineering teams to ensure product documentation, manuals, and sales materials are culturally and technically aligned with LATAM standards. * Complex Negotiations: Lead the closing process for large-scale CAPEX projects, navigating international shipping, duties, and regional payment terms. Candidate Qualifications Experience * 7+ years in International Sales or Channel Management , specifically in packaging or heavy industrial machinery. Language * Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required. Proficiency in Portuguese is a significant advantage. Channel Expertise * Proven track record of managing independent Manufacturers' Representatives in Latin American markets. Technical Savvy * Ability to explain complex automation and mechanical systems to both technical and non-technical audiences. Travel * Willingness to travel 50-60% internationally across the LATAM region. Cultural Competency * Deep understanding of Latin American business etiquette and relationship-based selling.
