About Us: Bailey Tax & Accounting is a family-owned accounting firm proudly serving the Vero Beach community for over 45 years. We've been in the same location since we opened our doors, and our motto has always been, " Where clients send their friends." We value relationships, accuracy, and a personal approach to accounting. Position Overview: We are currently seeking a full-time Bookkeeper or Staff Accountant to join our team. This position works under the guidance of an Enrolled Agent and supports both business clients with a variety of accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, comfortable working directly with clients, and enjoy being part of a close-knit team. Please note: This is an IN-PERSON position based in our Vero Beach office and is NOT available for remote work. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records for small businesses * Prepare regular payroll reports and process payroll for multiple clients * File monthly and quarterly sales tax reports in compliance with Florida regulations * Perform monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation * Assist in year-end closing and preparation for tax filings * Communicate directly with clients regarding financial data and reporting * Work with QuickBooks (Online/Desktop) * Support the Enrolled Agent with any additional bookkeeping or financial tasks Qualifications: * Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred * 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting * Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles * Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel * Excellent organizational and communication skills * Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines Benefits: * Competitive salary based on experience, starting $22-30 per hour * Paid time off and holidays * Flexible work environment in a family-oriented office * Opportunity for long-term growth and mentorship * 401-K employer contribution and employee match * Employer paid health insurance available * Employer paid life insurance * Optional benefits available Job Type: Full-time Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) 3% Match * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Employee assistance program * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid sick time * Paid time off * Vision insurance Application Question(s): * Do you have prior experience with QuickBooks data entry?
