Used Car Director -- South Austin Franchise Dealership Job Type: Full-Time (On-Site) Experience Level: Director / Multi-Store Manager / High-Volume Pre-Owned About the Role South Austin franchise dealership is seeking a highly experienced and driven Used Car Director to lead a high-volume pre-owned department. This role requires a proven operator who understands the Central Texas wholesale and trade market , makes smart acquisition decisions, and manages 100 -150 retail units with a strict 60-day turn while maximizing front-end and back-end performance. What We 're Looking For We want a leader who isn't just a closer, but a builder -- someone who can execute, coach, and scale. The ideal candidate can: * Acquire, appraise, and price vehicles with confidence and accuracy * Maintain a hard 60-day turn policy with minimal wholesale loss * Navigate the Central Texas trade & auction ecosystem * Utilize digital selling channels such as Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist * Create or direct short-form video content to drive online engagement * Improve lead performance (response time, conversion rates, closing %) * Train and hold teams accountable to process, merchandising, and display Core Responsibilities * Oversee all appraisal, acquisition, merchandising, and retail/wholesale decisions * Manage physical and digital display, photo standards, and descriptions * Develop and reinforce internet sales processes for higher conversion * Coordinate with sales management on pricing, market adjustments, and aged inventory * Recruit, train, and motivate staff to hit volume and gross targets * Monitor KPIs including turn, cost-to-market, response times, and digital engagement What Success Looks Like * Fast, disciplined inventory turns * Strong front-end and back-end gross performance * High-quality digital merchandising and online presence * Industry-leading lead response and closing metrics * An accountable, well-trained pre-owned team operating at a high level What We Offer * Top-of-market compensation based on experience, production, and budget performance * Established, profitable department with room to grow * Investment support for inventory, marketing, and advertising * Tenured management team and stable private ownership * A dealership culture that values leadership, performance, and innovation Requirements * 5+ years Used Car Director or High-Volume Pre-Owned Management experience * Proven track record managing 100 -150 retail units * Knowledge of the Central Texas auction/trade market * Strong digital merchandising and content skills * Experience using digital listings, social platforms, and CRM tools * Leadership ability with demonstrated team development success * Valid driver's license If you are a results-driven leader who thrives in a competitive environment and wants the backing to scale a winning operation, we want to hear from you.
