Full description of the position
The Facility Administrator (FA) is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and financial performance of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). This leadership role ensures the delivery of high-quality surgical services, efficient operational workflows, excellent patient satisfaction, and full regulatory compliance. The FA works closely with physicians, clinical leaders, staff, and corporate leadership to maintain a safe, efficient, and patient-focused environment. 2. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership: Oversee all daily operations of the ASC including clinical, administrative, and support services. Ensure smooth coordination of scheduling, registration, pre-admission testing, and surgical flow. Ensure compliance with state regulations, standards established by Accreditation Organizations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and other regulatory agencies. Oversee Facility Risk Management Program activities Monitor OR utilization, case volume trends, and patient flow metrics for operational efficiency. Lead daily huddles, staff meetings, and cross-functional planning sessions. Financial Oversight: Develop and manage the annual operating budget and capital expenditures. Analyze monthly financial reports, revenue cycle KPIs, and expense trends. Monitor payer mix, denial rates, and collections in coordination with the billing team. Identify and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or safety. Compliance & Accreditation: Maintain compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements. Prepare for and manage regulatory inspections and audits. Ensure compliance with infection control, risk management, and safety policies. Quality Improvement Assist in monitoring, development, and implementation of the ASC Quality Assurance program Gather clinical compliance data from designees for relevant programs for action planning and review in quarterly Governing Body and Quality Assurance meetings Present Quality Improvement findings to the Governing Body Leadership & Staff Development: Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff performance. Foster a collaborative and positive work culture. Address performance issues and oversee staff scheduling. Conduct competency reviews and support continuing education initiatives. Physician Relations & Strategic Growth: Serve as the primary liaison between the facility and physician stakeholders. Build strong relationships with surgeons, ensuring high satisfaction and case support. Develop and execute strategic plans to grow case volume and service lines. Collaborate with marketing and business development on referral partnerships. 3. Skills and Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor?s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business, or related field (required). Master?s Degree in Healthcare Administration or MBA (preferred). Minimum 3?5 years of leadership experience in a surgery center or hospital setting. Licenses & Certifications: RN license preferred but not required. RT license preferred but not required. CASC (Certified Administrator Surgery Center) certification (preferred) Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of ASC regulations, revenue cycle, and accreditation standards. Financial acumen and ability to interpret budgets and productivity metrics. Exceptional leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Proficiency in EMR, scheduling, and supply management systems. 4. Work Conditions Physical Requirements: Ability to walk and stand for extended periods. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Some travel may be required for training or corporate meetings. Work Schedule: Full-time, typically Monday through Friday. Hours vary based on operational needs and ASC?s case volume. 5.
