Position Overview The Landscape Designer supports the design-build process from concept through installation. You'll turn ideas into detailed, buildable plans while collaborating with the sales, design, and construction teams to ensure every design is both creative and practical. This role offers remote flexibility for design work with regular on-site visits for client meetings, measurements, and project reviews throughout the Chicagoland area. YOU MUST LIVE IN ILLINOIS. Key Responsibilities * Design and draft detailed landscape plans using AutoCAD (LandFX) and SketchUp. * Create construction documents, planting plans, and 3D renderings. * Research and apply local building codes, setbacks, and impervious surface regulations. * Collaborate with design-sales staff to prepare design presentations and proposals. * Coordinate with operations to support procurement, permitting, and pre-construction. * Communicate directly with clients and the internal team to ensure clarity and alignment. * Prepare and organize project packets for seamless handoff to construction management. Requirements * Minimum 3 years of experience in landscape design, landscape architecture, or design-build. * Proficiency in AutoCAD (LandFX) and SketchUp required. * Strong understanding of hardscape, carpentry, and planting design. * Knowledge of construction methods, grading, and local building codes. * Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills. * Degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, or related field preferred. * Must have a valid driver 's license and be located in or near the Chicagoland area for site visits.
