Position Summary MTech is seeking a Territory Sales Manager based in the Pittsburgh, PA area to represent our full line of municipal and specialty work trucks, equipment, and vehicles across Western Pennsylvania. This role focuses on selling industry-leading brands used by municipalities and contractors who support government infrastructure and public works functions. This is a consultative, relationship-driven sales role calling on municipalities, public works departments, utilities, and select contractors. You'll demonstrate equipment, guide customers through acquisition decisions, and be supported by MTech's service team and training resources. What You 'll Do * Represent and sell MTech's full portfolio of municipal and vocational equipment, including: * Sewer inspection cameras, sewer jetting and vacuum trucks * Refuse and garbage trucks * Street sweepers * Leaf vacuum units * Aerial lift trucks * Service crane trucks * Safety equipment * Develop and manage customer relationships within municipalities and contractors throughout Western Pennsylvania. Take an active role with resolving customer issues. * Conduct on-site equipment demonstrations and customer training relating to new delivered vehicles * Provide basic technical support, equipment knowledge, and product guidance (with full support from MTech's service and technician teams) * Maintain a deep understanding of product capabilities, features, and industry applications * Collaborate with internal teams to support quoting, delivery coordination, and customer success * Attend municipal and industry trade shows, events, and demonstrations as needed. Coordinate show events in your assigned territory. * Travel within your assigned territory to visit customers at their location. In certain cases, overnight stays are involved. * Become actively involved in local organizations beneficial to MTech. * Ability to prepare truck quotes utilizing unique quoting formats or each of the company's manufacturers * Be aware always of all bid opportunities in the assigned territory * On-site cold calling (a major requirement for new business development). Required Experience & Qualifications * Minimum 3 years of related sales experience , ideally in municipal, heavy equipment, industrial, or vocational truck markets * Strong communication and relationship-building skills * Comfort presenting and demonstrating equipment * High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree or trade school degree is preferred) * Valid driver's license required * Clean driving record to ensure insurability by company insurance company * Ability to pass criminal background check and drug test * Must be drug free and submit to random drug screenings to retain CDL licensing * Must pass DOT physicals (medical exam) in order to maintain CDL licensing * Eventually obtain a CDL (funded by MTech) with tanker and air brake endorsements * Willingness to travel throughout Western Pennsylvania and in some cases overnight stays are involved * Familiarity with sales CRM systems a plus (MTech uses Sales Force) * Ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. * Ability to do minor repairs in the field (not required but a plus) * Understanding and utilization of bid services and cooperative purchasing contract processes Highly Valued Technical Background (Not Required But a Strong Plus) Because this role involves demonstrating and discussing specialized municipal equipment, applicants with hands-on technical or mechanical understanding are strongly preferred. Experience in any of the following is a major advantage: * Prior mechanic/technician experience or "mechanically inclined" * Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, CAN bus systems , or similar componentry * Experience with municipal equipment such as: * Sewer jetting & vacuum trucks (Vactor, Super Products, Vac-Con, GapVax, etc.) * Refuse/garbage trucks * Street sweepers * Excavation equipment ("yellow iron" familiarity) * Willingness to obtain a Class A or B CDL (MTech will train and pay for this if needed) Benefits * Medical, Dental and Vision insurance * Life insurance and long-term disability programs fully funded by company * Company retirement program * Company vehicle provided with gasoline card (typically an F-150 pickup or similar) * Paid vacations and paid sick time ("PTO") * Company paid holidays (typically six annually) * On-the-job learning and full support of other territory selling managers * Premium service trucks provided for field use * Strong support from a service team of certified factory technicians * Company provided credit card for use with travel needs About MTech ([please apply online] Since 1975, MTech has been an integral part of the refuse, sewer, street, safety, underground utility and construction industries.
