Technical Sales Account Manager (New Jersey Territory)

  • Location: Home office within New Jersey (Greater Philadelphia candidates considered if NJ coverage needs are met)
Compensation

: $80,000 -$150,000 base + performance incentive, company vehicle, full benefits

  • Our client is a century-established U.S. manufacturer of mission-critical connectivity and electronics used in aerospace, defense, and other high- reliability markets. We 're hiring a
  • Sales Account Manager
  • to own the State of New Jersey territory, drive design-ins, expand program penetration, and grow revenue across strategic accounts (including primes and tiered suppliers concentrated in North Jersey).
  • You 'll be the face of the business with customers and the internal advocate across factoriescoordinating engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program teams to ensure on-time, on-quality delivery and to win the next design.
  • What You 'll Do
  • Build and grow a NJ book of business: Own territory planning, target lists, and quarterly design-in pipelines; prioritize RF, fiber-optic, PCB/backplane, and connector opportunities.
  • Win designs and programs: Identify specs early, influence architectures, and promote value-add assemblies and system-level solutions.
  • Forecast with accuracy: Maintain a rolling 12-month outlook across direct, distribution, and subcontract channels; present program health to leadership.
  • Run program basics well: Track bill of materials by product line and factory, quantify revenue potential, and monitor delivery/quality/cost metrics with customer and internal teams.
  • Be present where it matters: Travel with engineering/quality/manufacturing to customer sites; periodically visit factories to align on critical designs, deliveries, and capacity.
  • Navigate customer systems: Use customer portals (purchasing/report cards/scorecards) to stay ahead of performance trends and remedy issues.
  • Report and communicate: Provide concise opportunity updates, risk/mitigation notes, and competitive intelligence. What You'll Bring
  • Background: Bachelor's in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in aerospace/defense or adjacent high-reliability industries in sales, sales support, marketing, or engineering roles with customer ownership.
  • Domain advantage (preferred, not required): Familiarity with interconnects; RF exposure a plus; experience with fiber optics and PCB/backplane solutions beneficial.
  • Customer savvy: Proven success influencing complex accounts and coordinating internal factory resources to resolve issues and accelerate wins.
  • Toolkit: Strong Excel/PowerPoint/Word; disciplined forecasting and funnel management.
  • Travel readiness: ~60-70% within NJ and occasional factory travel.
  • Work authorization: Must be a U.S. person (citizen, permanent resident, or otherwise eligible) due to export-controlled programs. Residence requirement: Must reside in New Jersey.
