Wholey's Market, 1711 Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh's historic Strip District is celebrating 112 years in business and is seeking a candidate for an immediate opening for our Produce Clerk position. This 5 days-a -week role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to build upon their experience, work ethic, and passion for customer service to be a part of the success of this department. As a member of our team, your primary focus will be servicing the customers and ensuring they have the tastiest and freshest products available at the best prices possible. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of retail food service experience. However, we will train the right person if they have the right attitude and willingness t work. Benefits: * 401K with 20% Matching * Dental and Vison insurance * UPMC Prescription & Health Insurance * Employee discount * Paid time off * Closed 6 major holidays * Close at 5:00pm, evenings off * Located on a bus line * Employee lunches and incentives * Flexible schedule 36-38 hours/wk Job Responsibilities: * Greeting customers and being able to assist them with needs, questions, or requests. * Properly receive orders in the loading dock verifying everything has arrived as listed and marking corrections if necessary. * Being available and able to cross train in other departments and assist as business needs dictate. * Following rotation standards when replenishing items. * Maintain work and sales area in a clean, organized and safe manner throughout the entire shift by conducting floor sweeps to ensure safety and cleanliness. * Complete daily cleaning tasks and assist with deep cleaning schedule. * Empty trash as needed throughout shift. * Operate all equipment including steamers, fryers, coolers, and knives in a safe manner. * Ability to handle multiple demands and to take direction and follow a checklist. * The ability to be reliable for regular scheduled shift. * General mobility requirements include the ability to stand or walk for several hours at a time. * Lift up to 40 lbs.
