A Commercial Lines Account Manager at an independent insurance agency plays a pivotal role in managing and servicing commercial insurance accounts. This position requires a blend of technical insurance knowledge, client relationship management, and administrative skills. Below is a comprehensive overview of the typical responsibilities, qualifications, and skills associated with this role. *Key Responsibilities * Client Relationship Management : Serve as the primary liaison between clients, insurance carriers, and internal teams, ensuring client needs are met promptly and effectively. * Policy Administration : Handle all aspects of policy management, including quoting, binding, issuing certificates, processing endorsements, and managing renewals. * Coverage Analysis : Review and analyze clients' insurance needs, providing consultative advice on coverage options, exclusions, and exposures. * Documentation and Record-Keeping : Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in the agency management system, documenting all communications and transactions. * Collaboration with Producers : Work closely with producers to support new business development and ensure seamless service delivery to clients. * Client Education : Educate clients on policy terms, audit procedures, and risk management strategies to help them make informed decisions. *Qualifications and Skills * Licensing : Active Property & Casualty insurance license is typically required. * Experience : Prior experience in commercial lines account management, preferably within an independent agency setting * Technical Proficiency : Familiarity with agency management systems (e.g., Applied Epic, AMS360) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. * Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with clients and team members. * Organizational Skills : Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently. * Problem-Solving Abilities : Capacity to address and resolve client issues and coverage questions promptly and accurately *Ideal Candidate Attributes * Client-Focused : Demonstrates a commitment to providing exceptional service and building long-term client relationships. * Team-Oriented : Collaborates effectively with colleagues and contributes to a positive team environment. * Adaptable : Able to adjust to changing client needs and industry developments. * Continuous Learner : Engages in ongoing professional development to stay current with insurance products and regulations.
