Paradigm Healthcare is seeking a Regional Director of Business Development! A tenacious, team oriented, and highly motivated individual is who we want on our team! Classification and Pay Salaried Exempt Reports to Vice President of Business Development The Regional Director of Business Development is responsible for facility census in the skilled and long-term care and payer mix through the design and implementation of referral programs and customer service strategies. This position oversees inpatient admission process. The Business Development Director manages, trains and develops the Director of Care Transitions team and serves in a Leadership role. The Business Development Director is responsible in creating an environment and culture that enables the facilities to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals, conveying the facility mission to all staff, holding staff accountable for performance, motivating staff to improve performance and being responsible for the operation of the department, measurement, assessment and continuous improvement of the department's performance. The Business Development Director creates an environment and culture that enables the facilities to fulfill their mission by providing patient safety and patient-centered treatment. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS * Reviews, evaluates, and monitors critical numbers and progress towards goals. o Takes actions to reverse negative admission and discharge volume trends. o Implements plans to ensure marketing effectiveness. o Uses monthly data to measure progress towards goals. o Monitors and measures volume, case mix growth, payer mix %, and functional outcomes of patients to ensure quality product lines. * Understands the volume impact on EBITDA to meet the financial of the business. * Understands the operational and financial metrics. * Communicates opportunity and threats in the marketplace to senior management. * Manages all marketing operations, including hiring and recruiting staff. * Educates marketing staff on tools, budget, sales skills, and territory management to achieve volume goals. * Effectively and appropriately communicates financial data and operational indicators to marketing and other relevant staff. * Understands and manages admission processes. * Understands processes for and adherence to insurance verification, pre-certification requirements, bed control. * Understands and communicates hospital discharges, and barriers. * Understands and uses clinical knowledge and resources to determine appropriateness of admission. * Identifies new and repackaging existing product lines in collaboration with hospital leadership. * Assigns territories to marketing team and realigns as indicated by key performance indicators with input from senior leadership * Drives grass roots efforts as deemed necessary to industry conditions. * Communicates effectively with referral sources to market and educate product lines. o Differentiates Company services from competition. o Develops marketing collateral and advertises in conjunction with corporate support that meets the needs of the market. * Plans and coordinates marketing, media coverage, and public relations functions to increase volume. * Uses CRM for creating, tracking, and monitoring liaison territory management, referrals and activities. * Completes mandatory training and courses required by completion date. Supervisory Responsibility This position oversees and collaborates with the Director of Care Transitions The position requires communication with and oversight of nursing home staff to ensure that specific policies, procedures, and systems are implemented correctly. Required Education and Experience * Bachelor's degree preferred * Minimum two years of experience in healthcare with experience participating in collaborative care (or similar) meetings and influencing customers required * Successful track record in leading, managing or direct sales and marketing, preferably in Healthcare Environment * Physician relations, case manager, managed care, knowledge of local healthcare market preferred. Although this is generally a Monday through Friday position, there will be scheduled times of work on the weekends and holidays. Significant events can occur at any given time that require working. Ongoing direction and support may be necessary if systems are not properly implemented, continuously improved, and monitored. Work Environment and Physical Demands This position generally will require physical activity. It may at times require walking to various locations within a facility and travel to different facilities, institutions, and other places to meet with community members. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and may require some use of machinery consistent with the job duties. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position at times requires the ability to walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, twist, and lift as necessary.
