Backed by Private Equity | Tristate Area (NJ / PA / DE) This is not a job posting. It's a search for a founding partner. The Black Marlin Investment Group is a private equity-backed investment group with 25+ years of combined experience in home services and is launching a new HVAC platform in the NJ/PA/DE tristate area. We are seeking a Head of Sales / Entrepreneur-in-Residence to co-build the business from the ground up. If you're wired to own outcomes, build teams, and scale revenue, this is a rare seat at the table. The Mandate You will design, launch, and scale the sales engine of a brand-new HVAC company. This includes: * Owning the go-to-market strategy from Day 1 * Building and leading a high-performance sales organization * Creating repeatable, scalable sales systems (process, CRM, KPIs, accountability) * Driving revenue, forecasting, and growth strategy * Partnering directly with ownership on pricing, capacity, and expansion decisions This is a hands-on, builder role--not a legacy operation and not a corporate environment. The Platform The private equity sponsor provides: * Capital and active strategic oversight * Centralized build-out of: * Legal, entity setup, and registrations * HR, talent acquisition, finance and accounting functions, administrative infrastructure * Sophisticated lead-generation and marketing strategies and resources * Proven playbooks from decades in the home services space You will not be starting alone--but you will be expected to lead. The Profile This search is best suited for someone who: * Has scaled or led sales in HVAC or home services (or closely adjacent sectors) * Operates with an owner's mindset and a no-excuses mentality * Is comfortable building from zero--people, process, and performance * Wants ownership and responsibility, not just compensation * Sees private equity as a strategic partner and support resource Prior P&L ownership, startup leadership, or GM-track experience is highly attractive. There is no predefined ceiling. Geography Initial market focus is the NJ / PA / DE tristate area.Local, hands-on leadership is essential.
