Inside Sales / Counter Sales Representative -- Plumbing Supply (Technical Focus) Role Overview We're looking for a technically strong Inside Sales / Counter Sales Representative with solid plumbing supply knowledge and a reputation for accuracy. This role is for someone who takes pride in doing things correctly -- building clean quotes, executing orders precisely, and being a trusted technical resource for contractors, outside sales, and internal teams. You'll work at the intersection of product knowledge, systems, and execution -- supporting customers in person, over the phone, and through coordinated efforts with outside sales. What You 'll Be Responsible For * Build and execute accurate quotes and sales orders for plumbing contractors * Support customers at the counter, on the phone, and via email * Act as a technical resource for product selection, substitutions, and application questions * Partner with outside sales to execute job quotes, pricing, and order fulfillment * Navigate ERP systems to: * Enter orders * Verify pricing * Check availability * Manage backorders and substitutions * Communicate clearly with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure correct fulfillment * Catch errors before they become problems -- accuracy matters more than speed What This Role Is (and Is Not) This role IS: * Detail-oriented * Product-driven * System-focused * Execution-heavy This role is NOT: * Cold calling * Relationship-based selling * High-pressure persuasion * "Wing it and fix it later" sales What You Bring * Prior plumbing supply experience is required (pipe, fittings, valves, fixtures, rough-in materials, etc.) * Strong comfort working inside order entry, quoting, and ERP systems * High attention to detail and consistency * Confidence answering technical product questions * Preference for structured work and clear expectations * Ability to work independently and own your responsibilities What Success Looks Like * Quotes are clean, accurate, and trusted * Orders flow through without rework or correction * Contractors rely on you for technical accuracy * Outside sales trusts your execution * Warehouse receives clear, correct instructions * Fewer mistakes, fewer escalations, fewer surprises Why This Role Matters Inside and counter sales are the technical backbone of a plumbing supply house.
