Business Development Manager (Founding LTL Sales Role) Company: 3T Logistics Location: Pacific Northwest (WA / OR) Type: Full-Time Compensation: Base + commission + leadership growth path About 3T Logistics 3T Logistics is a fast-growing logistics company built from the ground up with a long-term vision. We specialize in LTL, regional cartage, cross-dock, and warehousing, serving customers across the Pacific Northwest. We are not looking for a transactional rep. We are building an LTL sales engine -- and this role is the foundation of it. Role Overview This is a founding Business Development role responsible for building the LTL sales department from zero. Your mission: Win consistent LTL freight and convert it into long-term, repeat business. You will open doors, build relationships, define the sales process, and create the foundation for a scalable LTL sales team. This role is designed to grow into Head of Sales / Director of Business Development. Primary Focus * LTL freight (regional ) * Contractual and repeat shipper volume * Direct shippers and strategic LTL partners * Long-term customer relationships (not spot quotes) Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales * Build an LTL-focused sales pipeline from scratch * Prospect and onboard: * Direct shippers (manufacturers, distributors, retailers) * 3PLs and brokers needing reliable LTL capacity * Regional and national LTL partnerships * Secure LTL contracts and recurring lanes * Price LTL freight intelligently (cost + margin, not rate chasing) * Conduct in-person meetings, site visits, and presentations * Negotiate rates, service levels, and commitments Sales Department Build-Out * Design the LTL sales process (lead -> quote -> onboard -> retain) * Build: * Sales scripts and outreach strategy * CRM structure and reporting * LTL pricing guidelines * Customer qualification standards * Work directly with ownership and operations to align capacity, service, and profitability * Help define when and how to hire future LTL sales reps What Success Looks Like (3-6-12Months) 1- 3 months - receiving RFPs and pending approval from a a customer. 3-6 months - first contracts approved. 12 months: Consistent LTL volume from core customers Stable book of repeat, contractual freight; Clearly documented LTL sales process.
