Full description of the position
Position Summary: We are seeking a results-driven Sales Manager / Account Executive with strong engineering and technical expertise in water filtration systems and reverse osmosis technologies. This remote-based role is responsible for driving business growth by identifying, developing, and converting new opportunities across water and wastewater treatment markets. The position requires up to 75% travel to support customers, develop new business, and represent the company at industry events. The ideal candidate brings proven success in sales engineering within the water industry or another technology-focused sector, combined with a consultative, solution-oriented approach to customer engagement. This role requires a strong focus on business development, market-specific growth strategies, lead qualification, and new customer acquisition. The successful candidate will be highly proficient in researching and qualifying prospects using CRM systems, social media platforms, and industry databases to build and sustain a robust sales pipeline. Key Responsibilities * Business Development & Lead Generation * Proactively identify, research, and qualify new business opportunities across water-related sectors, including treatment, purification, and wastewater applications. * Execute targeted strategies to attract and engage prospective customers within defined markets. * Generate leads through a variety of channels, including cold calling, email campaigns, industry networking, and trade events. * Maintain a consistent and well-qualified pipeline of prospects using CRM tools and data-driven insights. * Strategic Sales Execution * Develop and implement sales strategies focused on increasing market share and revenue growth. * Track, analyze, and report on lead generation and sales performance metrics to continuously optimize effectiveness. * Collaborate closely with marketing and internal sales teams to align messaging, campaigns, and overall growth objectives. * Client Relationship Management * Build, manage, and strengthen long-term client relationships through consultative selling and technical expertise. * Assess customer needs and challenges to recommend tailored water filtration and reverse osmosis solutions. * Gather and evaluate customer feedback to refine offerings and ensure optimal solutions are delivered. * Market & Industry Intelligence * Stay current on water industry trends, technologies, regulations, and competitive activity. * Identify emerging market opportunities and contribute to positioning strategies that reinforce Aqua Membranes' competitive advantage. * Collaboration, Travel & Representation * Work effectively within a remote, "One Team" environment, collaborating across multidisciplinary functions within the water and wastewater treatment space. * Travel up to 75% as needed to support customers, conduct market research, and represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows. Qualifications * Education * Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Civil preferred) or a related technical discipline. * Experience * Minimum of 5+ years of sales engineering experience in the water industry (treatment, purification, wastewater) or a comparable technology-driven industry. * Demonstrated success in growing sales and developing new business within technical or engineered solutions. * Technical Expertise * Strong understanding of water treatment technologies, industry standards, and regulatory considerations--or a proven ability to master complex technical products in other technology-focused industries. * Communication & Collaboration * Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. * Proven ability to collaborate effectively with customers and cross-functional internal teams in a remote environment. Desired Skills & Attributes * Experience with CRM platforms and proposal-development tools. * Highly self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently. * Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 75% for customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events. * Comfortable working remotely while maintaining high responsiveness and accountability.
