The Market Sales Manager will work as a team member in the Knoxville area sales office and report directly to the Area Director of Sales. The MSM will own a specific market ( Downtown ) and represent the Cumberland House Tapestry Collection by Hilton . The MSM will be responsible for the overall sales team goals and their individual market goals. As necessary, the Market Sales Manager will flex and allocate time to any hotel in the Knoxville metro market based on urgency and need for the hotel portfolio. The ADOS will determine the allocation of time. The Market Sales Manager's primary job duty is to oversee the sales efforts for the market segment they are assigned and to work hand in hand with the sales team to cross-sell the entire portfolio of hotels in the greater Knoxville market. Primary Responsibilities: * Complete and stay up to date on brand-specific sales training. * Assists the GMs with the development and implementation of the customized business/sales & marketing plan. * Goes on weekly sales calls to prospect for new business. Weekly meetings with the entire sales team. * Schedules site visits at each property with potential clients. * Track company name data and ensure that reservations are being coded appropriately using the daily reports available. * Collaborate with the front desk and housekeeping on assigning and setting up rooms for new and VIP clients. * Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked by generating proposals, responding to solicitations, writing contracts, responding to clients, completing qualifiers, etc. * Maintain an organized filing system and complete all sales paperwork. * Tracks the number of room nights generated by each corporate account using the reports available in OnQ and Hilton Lobby. * Negotiates rates with new and existing clients based on the annual sales goals and strategy. * Follow up on all corporate sales leads within 24 hours. * Complete knowledge of brand-specific standards and top Hotel accounts. * Visits local account offices quarterly to maintain strong and positive relationships. * Expand the pool of contacts within our current accounts to uncover new business. * Attend all hotel and company meetings as necessary. * Attends community functions in order to increase each hotel's visibility and prospect for new business. * Train hotel staff in proper sales procedures, including reservations, inquiries, site visits, and other relevant sales activities. * Supervisor to the Sales Coordinator, ensuring that they are successful in their role. * Willing to work flexible schedule - will be required to work some weekends - as the sales department must be represented at certain functions. * Keep confidential the business functions of the company, including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, employee issues, etc. * Follows all hotel sales procedures * Must perform any other required duties as requested by the General Manager, Area Director of Sales, or Ownership.
