Join our growing [please apply online] Mattress Makers! We are looking for a Store Manager at our Humble, TX location! Overview: This position is responsible for managing the Texas Mattress Makers Baytown showroom including everyday sales tasks, customer service and a team of sales associates. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales. Texas Mattress Makers is a family-owned business with a unique strategy that cuts out middleman costs for the consumer by manufacturing its own mattresses. As such, this position is required to learn about each mattress and product from beginning of construction to end. This sales technique will be utilized to not only sell mattresses but educate the customer on what materials work best for their sleep position, body type and budget. Qualifications & Skills: * Ability to learn from the ground up about mattress production and the science behind a custom-fitted mattress. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Strong leadership and management skills. * Ability to lift 25lbs or more. * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. * Ability to work well in teams and alone with a self-starter mentality. * Basic math skills when calculating sales totals including tax, and discounts. * Knowledge of basic computer software with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel as well as the propensity to learn a new point of sale software used in store. Responsibilities: * Lead a team of sales associates to meet and exceed monthly sales goals. * Greet customers and provide an educational experience. * Manage multiple customers at a time without sacrificing superior customer service. * Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times. * Perform administrative duties and manage a customer service email. * Open and close the store daily. Education / Experience: * Associates degree or high school diploma. * Minimum of 3 years of retail experience, mattress industry preferred. * Management experience not required but a plus. Salary: Based on experience. Schedule: Must be available during most nights (up to 8:00 p.m.) and weekends. Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision. Location: Humble, TX with ability to travel to other showrooms in the Greater Houston area.
