Overview We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Associate to join our team. As a Sales Associate, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service, driving sales, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. You will be responsible for maintaining the store's appearance, assisting customers with their purchases, and contributing to the overall success of the retail environment. Some of our staff have been with us for over 30 years. Duties * Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs. * Utilize retail math skills to manage inventory and assist with stock replenishment. * Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer purchases and increase sales. * Operate the cash register efficiently while handling cash transactions accurately. * Maintain knowledge of current promotions and product offerings to effectively communicate with customers. * Supervise junior staff when necessary, ensuring adherence to store policies and procedures. * Handle phone inquiries with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette. * Assist in maintaining a clean and organized sales floor and stockroom. Skills * Proficient in retail math to assist with pricing and inventory management. * Strong upselling skills to maximize sales opportunities. * Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members. * Knowledge of phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries professionally. * Experience in cash handling procedures and operating POS systems. * Proven ability to sell products through effective customer engagement. * Familiarity with retail sales techniques and best practices. * Supervisory skills are a plus for mentoring new associates.
