Full description of the position

Immediate hiring need: We are currently prioritizing a morning shift cashier. Applicants should be comfortable with early morning openings , while also being open to flexible scheduling and the ability to work other shifts throughout the day as business needs change. Xpress Mart is a locally and family-owned, independent gas station and convenience store serving our Pensacola community. We are a small, close-knit team looking for a reliable, motivated Store Associate who can handle cashier duties, work well with others, and assist with stocking and light inventory support. This is a hands-on position in a moderate-to-high paced environment depending on season and traffic. We are looking for someone dependable, positive, and willing to grow with us long-term. What We 're Looking For We are seeking a Store Associate/Cashier who is:

  • A strong team player (supports multiple areas of the store)
  • Reliable, punctual, and consistent
  • Comfortable with customer service, cleaning, stocking, and light inventory work
  • Willing to learn and follow systems and procedures
  • Looking for steady work and long-term consistency Pay: Starting at minimum wage Scheduling: More consistent and stable scheduling is available after training and a period of proven reliability. Shift Availability
  • Store hours generally range between early morning and evening
  • Must be comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Availability within store operating hours is required

Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly, prompt, and professional customer service
  • Accurately operate POS, lottery, credit card systems, and money services
  • Follow all state and federal regulations (including tobacco sales)
  • Maintain coffee and food service areas
  • Keep the store clean, organized, and customer-ready at all times
  • Stock and face coolers, shelves, freezers, and back-up inventory
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and light inventory organization/counts
  • Maintain clean restrooms, sales floor, and exterior store areas
  • Take out trash and maintain curb appeal
  • Follow safety, cash-handling, and loss-prevention procedures
  • Work cooperatively with managers and coworkers
Minimum Qualifications
  • Willingness to complete training
  • Strong people skills and a positive attitude
  • Ability to stand and walk for entire shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Reliable transportation
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays
  • Must follow attendance and call-out policies
  • Must be willing to undergo periodic background checks and drug testing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Retail, cashier, or customer service experience
  • Stocking or inventory experience
  • Experience with POS or pricebook systems
  • Stable work history
  • High school diploma or equivalent
