Full description of the position
Title: Sales & Marketing Dairy Nutrition Representative Reports Directly to: Health & Wellness Sr. Manager Matrix Reports to: VP Strategic Partnerships Work location: In the field (Washtenaw, Wayne, Oakland, Macomb counties). Occasional travel for meetings at UDIM office in Okemos, MI *Mission , Vision & Values Mission Instill trust in dairy through outreach and education to drive sales. We operate with professional integrity and share a love for our communities Position Summary The Sales & Marketing Dairy Nutrition Representative is responsible for educating pediatric, OBGYN, family practice, and other healthcare professionals within designated territories about the health benefits of dairy products. The role is designed to drive increased dairy consumption by delivering science-based nutrition insights and promoting the positive story of dairy--from farm to table. This is a contract position for up to 20 hours per week. *Roles & Responsibilities * _Target Engagement & Education: _ * Establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, including pediatricians, OBGYN, family practice physicians, nurse practitioners, dietitians, community partners and other key office staff. * Educate on the science-based benefits of dairy foods and inspire them to encourage dairy consumption as part of a balanced, healthy diet. _Program Planning & Execution: _ * Plan and execute both in-person and virtual educational events and presentations, ensuring alignment with the allocated territory budget. * Utilize existing presentation materials and collaborate with staff to develop new content when necessary. * Thinks strategically to identify challenges, solutions, and new opportunities. Territory Management: * Strategically manage assigned geographic territory to achieve required reach and frequency with target audiences. * Ensure consistent engagement and follow-up. * Consults with supervisor/manager and makes decisions in full compliance with the policies, taking into account best practices _Messaging & Coaching: _ * Deliver high-quality, evidence-based program messaging during all engagements. * Incorporate coaching feedback and training to continuously improve communication effectiveness. * Communicates orally and in writing clearly to assure the recipient understands the information and requests specific and clear feedback/responses Educational Resource Distribution: * Distribute dairy nutrition education materials to healthcare professionals within the territory. * Collaborate with leadership and communications teams to identify needs and develop new resources as appropriate. _Reporting & Documentation: _ * Accurately document and report all territory activities using CRM software to track outreach, engagement metrics, and program impact in a timely manner. _Collaboration & Professional Development: _ * Participate in weekly team meetings and professional development sessions to stay current on dairy nutrition science, share market insights, and contribute solution-oriented strategies to support team success. * Identifies and communicates challenges, solutions, and new opportunities * Takes into account fluctuating needs and requests; plans and organizes own work to meet job priorities and expectations, team members and team priorities; works with supervisor and team on contingency plans if deadlines cannot be met * Contributes ideas and innovative approaches to enhance work processes and procedures * Accepts constructive feedback in a positive manner and can cope with setbacks *Education, License, Certification, Experience & Languages Minimum Education: Bachelor degree - Required Nutrition degree; RDN or pediatric product sales experience - Preferred 5+ years of successful documented pharmaceutical/medical sales experience - Preferred Multilingual (Spanish or other) - Preferred *Note: Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered. Travel Driving within territory. Occasional overnight travel may be required for meetings and conferences. Personal vehicle usage required. Mileage reimbursement provided at the current federal rate on a monthly basis.
