Retail Store Cast Member (Knitting Expert) -- Part-Time $17.00 -$20.00 per hour Wool & Company Fine Yarn -- South Elgin, IL (In-Person) Do you speak fiber fluently? Do you live in Ravelry, know your gauges by heart, fix dropped stitches with your eyes closed, and love sharing what you know? Wool & Company is looking for a true knitting expert to join our retail team--a passionate, skilled maker who wants to showcase their craftsmanship, guide fellow knitters on their journey, and help nurture a thriving fiber-arts community. This is more than a retail role. This is a chance to use your knitting mastery every single day, mentor others, and be part of something creative, warm, and deeply human. What You 'll Do * Welcome customers with genuine enthusiasm and a love for fiber arts * Help knitters choose yarns, colors, tools, and patterns * Provide expert troubleshooting for knitting problems--mistakes, modifications, technique questions, and more * Offer knowledgeable guidance on fibers, gauges, project planning, and pattern pairing * Teach classes, workshops, and knit-alongs * Participate in store events, demos, and promotions * Keep the store beautifully organized and inspiring * Wind yarn using a ball winder and swift * Complete transactions using our POS system * Represent Wool & Co.'s core values with warmth, integrity, and passion What We 're Looking For Knitting expertise is non-negotiable.
