Sales Manager Location: Baton Rouge, LA Company: Family Resource Group, Inc. About Family Resource Group Family Resource Group (FRG) is a growing publishing and marketing company with active operations across six markets. Through community storytelling, high- quality print and digital advertising, and innovative platforms like Geaux IQ , we help local businesses grow. We're seeking a Sales Manager to lead our dynamic sales team with structure, accountability, and motivation. This person will coach our Account Executives, manage performance, and drive revenue growth across FRG's publications and digital products. Position Overview The Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in leading, developing, and supporting the sales team. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives on structure, accountability, and building a culture of collaboration and success. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Goal Setting * Define clear monthly and quarterly revenue targets for the sales team. * Communicate expectations and review results regularly. * Submit quarterly sales plans with goals, strategies, and incentives. Coaching & Development * Hold regular one-on-one meetings to review pipelines and provide coaching. * Observe sales calls and client meetings to give constructive feedback. * Maintain a sales playbook with scripts, tools, and objection-handling techniques. * Oversee onboarding and training for new hires to ensure success during ramp-up. Accountability & Performance * Review weekly sales activity reports and KPIs (revenue, close rates, meetings). * Address underperformance through structured performance plans. * Recognize and reward achievements through contests and incentives. * Ensure CRM usage is accurate and up to date for all reps. Motivation & Culture * Run weekly sales meetings to review metrics, celebrate wins, and highlight leaders. * Foster a positive, competitive, and supportive team environment. * Conduct quarterly Start-Stop-Continue feedback meetings for continuous improvement. Collaboration & Communication * Partner with marketing to align campaigns and lead generation efforts. * Serve as the main point of contact for all sales-related questions and issues. * Escalate only critical issues to executive leadership using the One-Three-One approach. * Visit the New Orleans office every two weeks to support local sales operations. Forecasting & Reporting * Maintain accurate sales forecasts within 10% accuracy. * Use reports and dashboards to monitor progress and guide coaching. * Track individual and team performance consistently. Hiring & Team Growth * Keep sales postings active and review applicants biweekly. * Lead onboarding, mentoring, and shadowing for new hires. * Ensure ongoing team training and skills development with the Team Development Lead. Qualifications * 3-5 years of experience in a sales management or leadership role (media, publishing, or marketing preferred). * Proven ability to coach and motivate sales teams to exceed goals. * Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. * Experience using CRM systems. * Skilled in data-driven management and performance tracking. * Positive, team-oriented attitude with a focus on accountability and results. * Willingness to travel periodically to FRG's other market offices (New Orleans, Colorado, Cincinnati, etc.).
