Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a passion for providing excellent customer service. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for managing transactions, assisting customers with their purchases, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the efficiency of our grocery store operations. Evenings and Weekends Required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
• Assist with product demonstrations and upselling items to enhance the shopping experience.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while ensuring all merchandise is properly stocked and displayed.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations, including supervising junior staff when necessary.
• Utilize retail math skills to manage transactions and assist with inventory management as needed.
• Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries or concerns over the phone.

Requirements

• Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred, particularly in a grocery store setting.
• Strong basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and cash handling.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
• Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demos is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of supervising others when required.
