Overview We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for managing transactions, assisting customers with their purchases, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the efficiency of our grocery store operations. Evenings and Weekends Required. Responsibilities * Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. * Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. * Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing any concerns. * Assist with product demonstrations and upselling items to enhance the shopping experience. * Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while ensuring all merchandise is properly stocked and displayed. * Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations, including supervising junior staff when necessary. * Utilize retail math skills to manage transactions and assist with inventory management as needed. * Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries or concerns over the phone. Requirements * Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred, particularly in a grocery store setting. * Strong basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and cash handling. * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with customers. * Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demos is a plus. * Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of supervising others when required. * A positive attitude with a focus on providing outstanding customer service in every interaction.
