Overview We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Counter Clerk to join our team service writing team as well as our Customer Sales and Service team for our international division - this is a dual role. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while assisting them with their purchases. Your ability to communicate effectively and upsell products will contribute to a positive shopping experience in our grocery store environment. Shift start and end times will be determined at time of hire. Torklift is open 7 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday and 8 am - 1:30 pm Saturdays. Duties * Greet customers warmly and provide assistance in a friendly manner. * Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately. * Utilize phone etiquette to handle inquiries and take orders over the phone. * Upsell products by demonstrating knowledge of promotions and special offers. * Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and enhance their shopping experience. * Maintain a clean and organized counter area, ensuring all products are displayed attractively. * Assist with inventory management by restocking shelves as needed. * Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations. Qualifications * Previous experience in customer service or sales is preferred, particularly in a grocery store setting. * Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with customers effectively. * Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as this can enhance customer interactions. * Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing cash registers. * Ability to learn quickly about product offerings and promotions for effective upselling. * A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
