QUALIFICATIONS * MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN * MUST have at least 2 years of Program Manager experience. * Bachelors of Science in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering * > 10 years of experience developing advanced composite materials * Strong background and expertise in advanced polymer-based composites * Hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, composite layup, and testing * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Strong team player - capable of working seamlessly with ownership/management, engineering, production, quality, and sales staff * Ability to manage and coordinate programs and research projects focused on advanced composite materials * Ability to respond quickly and flexibly to the various needs of a small business (technical/scientific, manufacturing, quality, sales) * Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Project * Proven track record of performing program planning and developing execution strategies * Experience in managing programs with multiple stakeholders and ability to execute risk mitigation activities. RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage 2 to 3 Programs for external customers Develop and align program objectives with the organization's strategic goals. Create a program roadmap and long-term plan. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program success. Allocate resources, including budgets and personnel, to support program initiatives. * Ensure that project goals, timelines, and budgets are met. * Monitor project risks and develop mitigation strategies. * Identify and propose new research and development opportunities Conceive and write grant proposals for outside funding when appropriate Plan, coordinate, carry out, and participate in internal R&D projects * Customer interactions Respond to customer requests: Design a plan that addresses the technical needs of the customer that includes technical approach, scope of work, labor and materials costs, and project schedule Interact with customers as needed to provide technical input/solutions * Manage programs for customers aimed at developing composite material solutions involving boron/carbon fiber hybrids * Execute and supervise composite layup processes to support company research and development * Supervise and direct composite material testing using ASTM procedures and identify modifications required to get valid failure modes with boron-based composites.
