Our Grand Format division is a 3M Certified Print Facility, with 3M Certified Installers and is a leading provider of high-quality printing solutions dedicated to delivering exceptional experiential products to our clients. With a focus on innovation and precision, we cater to a diverse range of industries and clientele. We design and produce all types of wall and floor murals for businesses, Educational, Sporting events across the country. We utilize cutting-edge technology, such as Canon Colorado, Vanguard Flatbed, ZUND Rout/Cut, HP Latex, Mimaki, and Thunder Laser Cutter/Engraver. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design/Prepress Technician to join our Grand Format team to serve our customers in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high- quality prints and timely delivery of projects. Job Title Prepress/Design Technician - Grand Format Printing Position Overview The Prepress Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of print materials before they go into production. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and attention to detail to effectively prepare artwork and layouts for printing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design, prepress operations, and print production processes. Responsibilities * Collaborate with clients, designers, sales and production teams to understand project requirements and objectives. * Review incoming artwork files for adherence to print specifications, ensuring proper resolution, color mode, and file format compatibility. * Prepare and optimize artwork for print production using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Assist in the printing and production of client orders. * Conduct preflight checks to identify and resolve potential issues such as image resolution, font embedding, and color accuracy. * Generate proofs and mock-ups for client approval, incorporating feedback and revisions as needed. * Maintain organized digital archives of artwork files and production specifications for future reference. * Stay updated on advancements in print technology, software tools, and industry best practices to enhance efficiency and quality. * Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to printing equipment, software, or file compatibility. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Printing Technology, or related field preferred. * Proven experience (3+ years) in graphic design, prepress operations, and print production. * Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other graphic design software. * Experience with MS Windows and MAC OS. * Strong understanding of color theory and layout design principles. * Familiarity with different printing techniques, substrates, and finishing options. * Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. * Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact with clients. * Problem-solving skills and adaptability to address technical challenges in a fast-paced environment. * Portfolio showcasing a range of print design projects and prepress work is highly desirable.
