Job Title: Corporate Tax Accountant Report to: Finance Manager/Chief Financial Officer Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315 Onsite: Monday - Friday Employment Type: Exempt, Full-time Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and knowledgeable Corporate Tax Accountant. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, preparing accurate tax filings, and supporting strategic tax planning initiatives. The ideal candidate will understand corporate, state, and local tax laws and accounting principles. The candidate will work closely with internal staff and external auditors to maintain tax integrity and optimize tax positions. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns including but not limited to payroll tax, sales and use tax, tangible tax, heavy highway tax, excise tax and state/local taxes for the company and its subsidiaries operating all over the United States. * Respond to inquiries from tax authorities and support any tax or financial audits. * Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance. * Maintain and reconcile tax accounts and ensure proper documentation of tax positions. * Provide support during month-end and year-end close processes related to tax matters. * Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company. * Participate in tax planning initiatives to optimize the company's tax strategy. * Monitor and update changes in payroll and sales tax rates and collaborate with other teams to ensure compliance. * Work with outside CPA firm on annual federal and state corporate tax returns. * Work closely with the Corporate Tax Director on any projects necessary. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. * Minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate tax, public accounting, or a similar role. * Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local corporate tax regulations. * Strong tax research skills required. * Proficient with tax software (e.g., Aatrix) and ERP systems (e.g., Vista Viewpoint). * Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel required. * Experience in construction industry is a plus. * Excellent analytical, organizational, and strong communication skills. * High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. * Discretion and the ability to handle confidential information required.
