Job Title: Senior Director - Data Center Design Engineering Salary: $200,000 - $250,000 plus 20% annual bonus and 20% Equity payouts Location: Dallas area preferred About Us Join a fast growing company. 2022 Revenue was $350M 2025 Revenue on target for $1B. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hungry and bright leader with experience in doing overbuilds in existing data centers. Summary: The Senior Director leads the design, upgrade, and delivery of global data center infrastructure, focusing on cost-effective, reliable, and scalable solutions for hyperscale, AI, and enterprise needs. You'll manage engineering teams, drive strategic planning, optimize costs, and collaborate across departments to align infrastructure with business goals. Key Responsibilities: * Design Leadership: Oversee end-to-end data center design, from concept to operation, ensuring reliable power and cooling systems (e.g., UPS, liquid/air cooling, generators) meet high-availability standards (N+1, 2N). * Strategic Planning: Plan infrastructure upgrades, repurpose facilities, and adopt new technologies (e.g., AI monitoring, energy storage) to meet demand and sustainability goals. * Cost Optimization: Reduce costs through innovative design, equipment choices, and vendor negotiations while analyzing total cost of ownership. * Collaboration: Work with operations, construction, finance, and sales teams to ensure designs meet customer needs and business objectives. * Performance Monitoring: Set KPIs, track project progress, and report to executives. * Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of engineering experts, fostering innovation and accountability. Requirements: * PE Certification (Any state) * Education: Bachelor's in electrical engineering (PE license or advanced degree preferred); knowledge of National Electrical Code and data center systems. * Experience: 10+ years in data center engineering or MEP leadership, including large-scale projects and retrofits; 5+ years managing teams. * Skills: Expertise in electrical (UPS, switchgear, generators) and mechanical systems (liquid cooling, chillers); strong communication and leadership; ability to work after hours during emergencies. * Travel: Frequent travel to construction sites, client meetings, or conferences. Preferred: Familiarity with global standards (NEC, IEEE, ASHRAE, Uptime Institute).
