Job Title: Technical Sales Representative - Industrial Manufacturing & Maintenance Department: Sales Reports To: Sales Manager / General Manager Position Summary The Technical Sales Representative serves as the primary point of contact for manufacturing and maintenance customers, working closely with them to identify problems, recommend solutions, and provide products and services that improve reliability and uptime. This role requires a strong mechanical background, working knowledge of machining capabilities, and hands-on understanding of bearings, power transmission, and industrial belting systems. Key Responsibilities * Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturing, maintenance, and reliability personnel. * Visit customer facilities to diagnose equipment issues and recommend corrective solutions. * Provide technical support for bearings, power transmission components, conveyor and belting systems, and related mechanical components. * Work with internal machine shop, fabrication, and repair teams to quote and deliver custom machined parts, rebuilds, and modifications. * Interpret drawings, tolerances, fits, and material specifications to ensure correct part selection and manufacturing feasibility. * Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and technical documentation. * Coordinate with purchasing, production, and scheduling to meet customer delivery and outage requirements. * Identify opportunities for preventive maintenance programs, upgrades, and reliability improvements. * Support troubleshooting efforts involving vibration, alignment, lubrication, wear, and failure analysis. * Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and activity reports. Required Qualifications * Mechanical or industrial background with hands-on experience in machining, maintenance, or mechanical repair. * Strong knowledge of rolling element bearings, seals, lubrication, couplings, belts, pulleys, and conveyor systems. * Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints. * Understanding of machining processes (turning, milling, grinding, welding, thermal spray, etc.) and manufacturing capabilities. * Proven ability to work directly with maintenance and engineering personnel in industrial environments. * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. * Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites. Preferred Qualifications * Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). * Experience in industrial distribution, MRO sales, or machine shop service sales. * Knowledge of reliability engineering practices, predictive maintenance, and root cause failure analysis. Physical & Work Environment * Regular exposure to industrial environments including machine shops, manufacturing plants, and maintenance areas. * Ability to wear required PPE and safely navigate shop floors and production areas.
